TATE-SMITH LTD

Established in the latter part of the nineteenth century by Tom Tate-Smith, the company has developed both its Licensed Wholesaler business and its manufacturing side.

Throughout the twentieth century Tate-Smith have grown both the manufacturing business, through the Sundella registered Trade Mark and an increasing wholesale business. During the 1980’s draught soft drinks dispense was added and a wine and spirit totally owned subsidiary Ryedale Vintners was established.

The 90’s saw the acquisition of 4 home delivery depots selling litre returnable glass bottles to houses in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire. Peter Furby, licensed wholesaler in York was also acquired.

Today Tate-Smith, with a tremendous heritage gained over 100 years in the business, offer a fully composite wholesale business from their 40,000 square foot base in Malton and the Peter Furby depot in York. Draught Soft Drinks and a full range of bottled products, produced in Malton find their way throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North Midlands.

In the year 2000 Tate-Smith joined the National Drink Distributors to develop further, as part of a National organisation.
